Boy, four, hurt in van accident in Stanwell

A four-year-old boy has been flown to hospital by air ambulance after a road accident involving a van in Surrey.

Police said the incident in Stanwell on Tuesday afternoon left the boy with serious injuries, but they were not thought to be life threatening.

The van was being driven by a local man when the accident happened at The Nightingales, Short Lane, at 1620 BST.

The area was cordoned off while Surrey Police carried out an investigation. Officers are appealing for witnesses.
