Man injured in police car crash in Guildford

A 24-year-old driver was taken to hospital with a neck injury after his car was in collision with a marked Surrey Police car.

The man was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital after the accident on Thursday evening at the junction of Old Lane and Ockham Lane in Guildford.

A police spokeswoman said his injuries were not life threatening. The officer driving the police car was not hurt.

Old Lane was closed both ways while emergency services were at the scene.

Police have appealed to any witnesses who have not already spoken to officers to come forward.
