£1.2m youth centre opens doors in Horley
A £1.2m youth centre has opened on the site of an old fire station in Surrey.
Horley Youth Centre will serve hundreds of children and young people across the area, Surrey County Council said.
Facilities include an internet cafe, radio station, entertainment studio, sexual health clinics and counselling and advice services.
The centre in Albert Road, which was developed with the help of young people, is staffed by a full-time and a part-time youth worker.
Councillor Kay Hammond said: "Whether it is just a coffee and a place to meet friends or being able to speak to a trained professional who will be able to offer immediate assistance, this youth centre has it all.
"It will provide young people with opportunities for training, education and socialising in a stimulating and supporting environment."
