Royal Surrey County Hospital unveils refurbished unit

A Surrey hospital has increased the capacity of a medical unit following a £2m refurbishment.

The Royal Surrey County Hospital said the 35-bed medical assessment unit would improve the standard of care for patients.

Up to 45 patients a day are treated at the unit, which includes a new laboratory to carry out blood tests.

Karen Bulley, the unit's matron, said she was proud of her staff's efforts while work was carried out.
