Wife denies murdering husband at Effingham home

A 67-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty to murdering her 75-year-old husband at their Surrey home.

Patricia Wakeford is accused of murdering her husband Tony, who was stabbed through the heart at their home in Norwood Road, Effingham.

Emergency services were called to the scene early on 4 September.

Mrs Wakeford denied murder when she appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Friday and was remanded in custody until a trial due to begin on 4 April.
