A section of the M25 motorway in Surrey is to close for two nights while improvement work is carried out.

The Highways Agency said the road would be shut clockwise overnight on Monday and anticlockwise on Tuesday between junctions nine and 10.

The agency plans to introduce a controlled motorway scheme to a 2.7-mile (4.3km) stretch east of Wisley.

The scheme means mandatory speed limits to regulate traffic during busy times.

Overall, there will be 15 overnight closures in the coming months while the work is carried out.

Tim Lyver, of the Highways Agency, said the scheme would reduce congestion and improve safety for motorists.
