Body of man recovered from Ewell river identified

A man who was found dead in a river in Surrey has been identified as a 52-year-old from Epsom.

The body of Jason Khalili was recovered from the Hogsmill River at Green Lanes, Ewell, at about 1120 GMT on Wednesday.

Police said his next-of-kin had been informed and a post-mortem examination was being carried out.

They have urged anyone who saw Mr Khalili in the area before his death, or who may know how he came to be in the river, to contact them.

On Thursday, officers attempting to identify him released an e-fit image.
