Fuel worth £400 stolen from two lorries in Stanwell

A large quantity of diesel worth about £400 has been stolen from two lorries parked overnight in Surrey.

The vehicles were parked in Long Lane, Stanwell, when they were targeted by the thieves sometime between 1700 GMT on 7 March and 0700 GMT on 8 March.

The fuel caps on both lorries were damaged in order to access the diesel, causing about £140 worth of damage.

Police have urged vehicle owners to take extra security precautions as fuel becomes more expensive.
