M3 roadworks in Surrey set to delay motorists

Motorists using the M3 near Frimley in Surrey have been warned they face weeks of delays from roadworks.

Narrowed lanes and 24-hour speed restrictions of 50mph will be in place as work gets under way near junction 4.

There will also be off-peak closures on the A331, which runs below the Blackwater Valley viaduct.

The Highways Agency said the work, which is to the joints supporting the bridges, was expected to take about 10 weeks to complete.

The work will also involve replacing the safety fencing in the central reservation.
