Surrey Heath shops in under-age alcohol sales crackdown

Action is being taken against staff at two shops after teenagers were able to buy alcohol, Surrey Police have said.

Officers said sales were made to 16-year-old test purchasers on Thursday.

A shop assistant who sold alcohol to an under-age person at Chobham Stores in Chobham High Street had been fined, a Surrey Police spokesman said.

The store manager at the Harvester Express in Camberley High Street is to be interviewed by trading standards officers under caution, police said.

The joint operation by Surrey Police and Surrey Heath Borough Council targeted 12 outlets.
