A derelict old pump house overlooking the River Wey in Surrey has been converted into a new bird hide.

It has been funded by a Landfill Communities Fund grant of £16,218 and will enable visitors to view birds and other wildlife at Manor Farm, Byfleet.

The Surrey Wildlife Trust reserve, which was transformed from agricultural land, attracts skylarks, linnets, snipe and kingfishers.

There is also a wet meadow, attracting wading birds and other wildlife.
