Thief holds knife to man's throat in Woking

A man had a knife held to his throat by a robber in Surrey who removed his wallet from his pocket.

The 30-year-old victim was walking along a canal towpath in Copse Road, St John's, Woking, shortly after 1930 BST Thursday when he was attacked.

The victim threw his mobile phone into a hedge to stop it being stolen.

The robber - described as in his 20s, white, of average build, with short wavy mousy hair - ran off in the direction of St John's Road.

Police are appealing for information.
