Police believe fraudster targeted 40 Guildford homes

A fraudster who posed as a charity fundraiser may have targeted up to 40 Surrey homes, police say.

The man has been asking residents to give him money for a sponsored run to fund a memorial garden for his aunt, who recently died of cancer.

Surrey Police believe he targeted between 30 and 40 homes in the Normandy and Wanborough areas of Guildford.

A 33-year-old East London man was arrested following concerned calls from residents in the Christmas Pie area.

Police are asking anyone with further information to contact them because they believe many incidents have not been reported.
