Guildford petrol station customer stabbed in neck

A man was left in serious condition when he was stabbed in the neck during a row at a petrol station in Surrey.

Police said the victim, in his 20s, was attacked at the pay window of the Total garage in Worplesdon Road, Guildford, while he was with two other men.

The knifeman got out of a white van, at 0130 BST on Sunday, and approached the three men before the argument began.

He stabbed the victim, who is being treated in hospital, before getting back in the van and being driven away.

'No hesitation'

"This was an extremely serious assault which could easily have resulted in a loss of life," said Det Sgt Claire Loving.

"This man was carrying a knife and showed no hesitation in using it without regard for the consequences."

The knifeman is described as white, in his late 20s, about 5ft 8in tall with short brown hair. He was wearing a beige jacket, blue jeans and trainers.

Police have appealed to any witnesses to come forward.
