'Pregnant' thief steals handbag from Surrey victim, 93
A woman tricked her way into a 93-year-old's home in Surrey and stole her handbag by claiming she was pregnant and needed a glass of water.
The suspect, in her 20s, knocked on the door of her victim in Taleworth Road, Ashtead, on Sunday.
Surrey Police said the woman, who was with a male accomplice, told the woman she felt faint and needed a drink.
Det Con Simon Evans said: "The suspects exploited the kindness of an elderly member of our community."
He added: "Con artists will go to great lengths to make their stories believable."
The woman is described as having a chubby face and dark bushy hair. She was wearing a red top and calf-length skirt.
Her accomplice is described as a man of slender build with light brown short hair. He spoke with a local accent.
