Man arrested over Guildford garage stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was stabbed at a petrol station in Surrey.

The 34-year-old, from West Byfleet, was arrested at 0200 BST by officers investigating the incident at the Total garage in Worplesdon Road, Guildford.

The victim, in his 20s, was stabbed in the neck at the pay window of the garage at 0130 BST on Sunday.

He was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and later released after treatment.

Police said the knifeman got out of a white van and approached the victim, who was a customer, and two other men at the pay window.

A row broke out and he stabbed the victim, before getting back in the van and being driven away.
