Girl sexually assaulted in Horley Anderson sport centre

A young girl was sexually assaulted while she was playing with a friend at a busy leisure centre in Surrey.

The girl was assaulted in Horley Anderson Sports Centre, Horley, at about 1700 BST on Monday.

Det Sgt Paul Burrill, of Surrey Police, said the sports centre had been busy at the time of the incident and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

He said: "This kind of assault is extremely rare and we urgently need to know who this man is."

He said the child had been subjected to a "traumatic experience".

Police said the suspect had broad shoulders and a square face. He was in his early to mid-30s and had short dark brown hair and stubble.

Following the assault, he left the leisure centre on foot, walking across the playing field.
