Attack on disabled man in Guildford prompts arrests

Four men have been arrested after a disabled man was attacked in a Surrey town centre.

The 42-year-old was walking along Friary Passage in Guildford when he was repeatedly punched in the head at about 1300 BST on Tuesday.

Surrey Police said the victim suffered facial injuries, including swollen eyes and lips.

Four men were arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail until 22 July.

Det Con Russ Cannon said: "This assault took place in the centre of Guildford during a busy time when many will have been taking their lunch breaks from work.

"I would encourage anyone who witnessed this incident or saw a group of men acting suspiciously in the area around the time of this offence to get in touch immediately."
