Up to 2,500 youngsters have begun competing in the largest annual youth sports festival in Surrey.

The two-day contest sees children, aged between seven and 16, compete in 13 different sports in Guildford on Saturday and Sunday.

Most youngsters have been training for months to take part in the games, which also includes events for disabled people.

A team of about 200 volunteers help run the event.

The 11 Surrey boroughs and districts of Elmbridge, Epsom and Ewell, Guildford, Mole Valley, Reigate and Banstead, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, Tandridge, Waverley and Woking have all entered teams.
