Pedestrian hit by car dies on A30 Egham bypass

A pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a car on the A30 Egham bypass in Surrey.

The man was hit by a Mini Cooper on the southbound carriageway at about 1345 BST on Monday.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police said the victim, who is in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Next-of-kin have yet to be informed, a police spokesman said.
