Man injured in Dorking flat block blaze

A man has been taken to hospital following a fire at a two-storey block of flats in Surrey.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service were called to the property in Horsham Road, Dorking, at about 1840 BST on Monday.

Three fire crews, including six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, tackled the blaze which severely damaged one flat.

A spokeswoman for Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said one man was rescued and taken to hospital.

The extent of his injuries are not yet know.

The blaze was extinguished at about 2025 BST and a fire investigation started.
