Spate of lead thefts from windows in Guildford

Thefts of lead which has been stripped from the windows of properties in a Surrey town are being investigated.

Police have received eight reports of properties targeted in Broadacres and Oakfields, in the Rydes Hill area of Guildford, since 12 July.

But they believe about 20 homes might have actually been targeted by the thieves in the past two weeks.

Other metal items, including iron drain covers, have also been stolen from driveways in the area.
