Tortoises stolen from Surrey return to home of 45 years

Two tortoises stolen from a property in Godalming have been returned to the home they have lived in for 45 years.

The tortoises, which were taken on 28 July, and were tracked down after Surrey Police were told that they were being offered for sale in a pub.

The information also suggested the tortoises would be thrown in the river if they were not sold.

Community support officer Dave Boxall said: "The tortoises have now been reunited with their rightful owner."
