Man who was under guard in Surrey hospital released on bail

A man who was under police guard at Royal Surrey County Hospital after being arrested for car theft and robbery has been released on bail.

Police said a Ford Fiesta was stolen from Runfold, in Surrey, at 23:22 BST on Friday before being burnt out at Bentley Rail Station, in Hampshire.

A blue Audi A3, which was stolen by a man with a knife near the station, was later crashed in Harper's Road, Ash.

A man, 35, was later held and taken to hospital with neck and head injuries.
