Cattle return to Papercourt Meadows nature reserve

A herd of cattle has been introduced to a Surrey nature reserve as part of a plan to improve the diversity of its plants and flowers.

Surrey Wildlife Trust said the animals would graze a fenced area at Papercourt Meadows near Send, Woking.

The eight cows will reduce the build up of coarse grasses, which in turn would help other plant life to flourish.

Ranger John Wilsher said wet meadows were "increasingly rare but intrinsically valuable".
