Robbers target youths at Carters Steam Fair in Surrey
A gang of up to 16 teenagers carried out a spate of robberies at a popular fair in Surrey, police have said.
Officers said the gang targeted at least six young people at Carters Steam Fair on Wheatsheaf Common, Woking, on Saturday evening.
Some of the victims were punched and threatened as they were robbed of their mobile phones and other possessions.
Det Con Yahya Aslam, of Surrey Police, said: "The offenders were not afraid to use force to get what they wanted."
Insp John Davies added: "The steam fair is enjoyed by hundreds of visitors and it is reprehensible that a small proportion of these visitors have been targeted in this way."
