M3 reopened northbound after a man dies in car crash

The M3 in Surrey has been reopened northbound following a fatal car crash.

A man was killed when a Citroen and an Audi crashed between junctions three and two on the London-bound carriageway at about 02:00 BST.

Surrey Police said the man, who was a passenger in the Audi, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop. Both carriageways were closed for about an hour.

The London-bound carriageway was closed until 09:00 BST.

The driver of the Citroen and the other occupants of the Audi were taken to St Peter's Hospital, in Chertsey, with minor injuries but all have since been discharged.
