CCTV images of two people police want to speak to in connection with the theft of a charity collection tin have been released by Surrey Police.

The Royal British Legion poppy tin was taken from a convenience store in Guildford Road, Ash, on 9 November.

Police believe a man distracted the shop assistant while his accomplice cut the chain securing the poppy tin.

Det Con Simon Paterson said: "It is a despicable crime to steal from a charitable cause."
