Surrey Police in alert over 'very dangerous' fireworks

Stolen exhibition fireworks will be "extremely dangerous" to anyone untrained in using them, police warn.

The fireworks were taken from a container at a specialist company in Farnham, earlier in the week.

Not available commercially, the haul includes large fireworks usually fired from a mortar tube.

"These pyrotechnics are not suitable for use by anyone untrained and could be extremely dangerous," Det Con Dan Chant said.

"These could potentially be life-changing if set off by someone who is not experienced in dealing with such large display units.

"I am warning everyone to be on their guard and if anyone finds or is offered such items for sale, that they do not handle them and contact Surrey Police as soon as possible."

The fireworks are in brown packaging with either MLE Pyrotechnics, Kimbolton Fireworks or Brighton Fireworks on the side.
