CCTV images of two men police want to question after a ticket inspector was attacked on a train in Surrey have been released.

The attack in the Redhill area happened at 06:30 GMT on Wednesday on the London Victoria to Ore service.

The inspector had asked two men for their tickets. They refused and would not leave the train when asked.

The pair proceeded to swear at the inspector, attempt to punch him and then poured whiskey over him.

The two men left the service at Redhill, taking with them the empty whiskey bottle, which they had also threatened him with.

Inspector Jack Ioannou, from British Transport Police, said: "This pair's behaviour towards the member of staff, who had quite rightly asked them for their tickets to travel, was completely unacceptable.

"This was a degrading assault on a man who was simply trying to do his job and we'll do everything we can to track down the pair responsible.

"If you know the men, or have any information that could help our investigation, we want to hear from you."
