Council fund for Surrey community projects launched

Surrey residents are being given the chance to bid for up to £50,000 of funding for community projects.

Surrey County Council has announced a £750,000 fund which is available for projects like community centres or the creation of an allotment.

Council leader David Hodge said the new Community Improvement Fund would be open to bids starting at £10,000.

"Whatever the idea, they [residents] will now have the opportunity to realise their aspirations," he said.
