Cyclist injured in Leatherhead hit-and-run crash

A cyclist is being treated for a serious head injury after he was hit by a car in Surrey which failed to stop.

The man, aged in his 40s, was injured in Kingston Road, Leatherhead, just before 19:20 GMT on Saturday.

Surrey Police said the car was believed to have been silver-coloured, and was possibly a Vauxhall Astra. Officers have urged the driver to contact them.

The cyclist was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting. Any witnesses to the crash are asked to call police.
