Leatherhead man held over hit-and-run crash

A man has been arrested over a hit-and-run crash in Surrey that left a cyclist with serious head injuries.

Surrey Police said a 24-year-old man was questioned on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and drinking and driving.

He has been bailed until 26 January while investigations continue, a force spokesman said.

The cyclist, aged in his 40s, was injured in Kingston Road, Leatherhead, just before 19:20 GMT on Saturday.
