Ice cream van stolen from Guildford winter storage

An ice cream van worth £40,000 has been stolen from a yard in Surrey where it was being stored for the winter.

Surrey Police said the blue and white Mercedes van, with the company name Waynes Whippy on the side, was stolen from the Wood Street area of Guildford.

The theft took place between when it was discovered missing at 11:00 GMT on Tuesday and 10:00 GMT on 5 January.

Det Con Mark Fordham is appealing for anyone who may have seen it to come forward.

"This is a distinctive vehicle and may well look out of place if it is being driven around or is parked up in the vicinity at this time of year," he said.
