Deadline near in Surrey County Council bus review

Time is running out for people to have their say on Surrey's "hotch-potch" bus services, the county council has said.

Surrey County Council said the county's bus routes were not being used to their full potential and urged people to give their views as part of a review.

The local authority said changes would ensure buses would run where they were needed and save millions of pounds.

Public consultation runs until 31 January on buses in Epsom and Ewell, Mole Valley, Guildford and Waverley.

Cabinet transport spokesman Ian Lake said: "Surrey's bus services became a hotch-potch of different routes over the years, which resulted in some routes not being used to their full potential.

"This review is an opportunity to go back to the drawing board to make sure services are run where they are needed most."

He urged passengers who have not already taken part in the consultation to do so before the end of the month.
