Drugs raids across Surrey and parts of London and East Sussex have led to 25 arrests, Surrey Police have said.

The operation followed a six-month intelligence operation and was aimed at tackling the supply of Class A drugs in Guildford and surrounding areas.

Police said they had seized "a significant amount" of Class A drugs along with cash.

All the people under arrest were being held in custody in Guildford and Woking, Ch Insp Matt Goodridge said.

He said residents would see increased patrols in areas where there were known problems and police would specifically target locations where drugs were sold and used.

Police were also working with the Surrey Drug and Alcohol Action Team so that people with substance misuse problems could receive the treatment they needed, he added.
