Tails cut off two horses in Betchworth field

Two horses have had their tails cut off in two separate incidents in Surrey.

Both attacks took place in the same field in Betchworth, near Dorking, within 48 hours of each other.

The first happened between 17:00 GMT on Friday and 11:00 on Saturday, and the second was between 17:00 on Sunday and 08:00 on Monday.

Appealing for information, Sgt Simon Cox, of Surrey Police, said the "deliberate and pointless" acts would have been distressing for the animals.
