Surrey Police: Five face 'bank card scam' fraud charges

Five people are facing charges over an alleged bank card scam targeting the elderly and vulnerable in Surrey.

Surrey Police said the charges followed an investigation into fraud offences possibly involving tens of thousands of pounds.

Five men, all from south London, have been charged with conspiracy to commit fraud and conspiracy to steal.

Detectives said the investigation was continuing and further charges were expected.

Surrey Police said the investigation followed claims people in the county had received false calls or false correspondence from their bank and been asked for their bank cards, PINs and bank balances.
