Police dogs to train at Dorking's Pippbrook House

Council-owned offices in Surrey are to be used to train police dogs used for drug and explosive searches.

Pippbrook House in Dorking already has a police counter after the closure of the local police station.

Surrey Police's dog training school also uses cinemas and hotels to give the dogs experience of finding their way around different venues.

Earlier this year, Dorking library relocated from Pippbrook House to a much larger site in the town centre.

The dog training school is one of the largest in the UK, and also trains dogs for the Singapore Police, Hong Kong Customs, Russian Federal Custom, and other national police forces.
