Two memorial plaques stolen from Woking churchyard

Two bronze memorial plaques worth £5,000 have been stolen from a churchyard in Woking.

The plaques record the names and details of people who have died and were in the grounds of St Peter's Church.

They were reported stolen from the building on Church Street on Monday.

Det Con Matt Gamble said it was a despicable offence carried out by people who had "no respect for the deceased or their grieving relatives".
