Man charged after Great Bookham house siege

A man has been charged after a woman and two children were allegedly imprisoned inside a house in Surrey.

Police forced their way into the property in Proctor Gardens in Great Bookham on Saturday, several hours after a man barricaded himself inside.

A 31-year-old man has been charged with two counts of false imprisonment, as well as arson and assault causing actual bodily harm.

He is also accused of three counts of criminal damage.

Some neighbours were asked to leave their homes as a precaution during the incident.
