Detectives investigating a planned high-value theft of a £13,000 Rolex watch in Surrey have issued a picture of a man they want to trace.

The watch was snatched from its owner in Costa Coffee in the Odeon Cinema in Upper High Street, Epsom.

Surrey Police said the Rolex submariner had been put up for sale on internet sites including eBay and Gumtree.

Officers said a man arranged to meet the owner at the cinema with a view to buying it, but grabbed it and ran away.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have vital information about the theft earlier this month.

Appealing for information, Det Con James Cumming said: "This was a high value theft that had clearly been planned and we would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image."
