Surrey caravan fire 'not suspicious'

Police have released a man who was arrested after another man suffered serious burns in a caravan fire.

Surrey Police said the blaze which broke out at in Perrylands Lane in Smallfield near Horley on Wednesday was now "deemed non-suspicious".

A spokeswoman said a 40-year-old London man, arrested on suspicion of arson, had been released without charge.

A 30-year-old man who was hurt in the fire is in a stable condition at Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.

Surrey Police and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service placed a 500m cordon around the fire, which broke out at about 00:50 BST, and junction nine of the M23 was shut temporarily.

The blaze also damaged an outbuilding.
