Hand grenades found at Surrey house spark police alert

Two unexploded hand grenades sparked an alert after they were found by police searching a property in Surrey.

Neighbouring properties in Walton Road, West Molesey, were evacuated as a precaution and the area was cordoned off during the incident on Tuesday.

Officers from the Explosive Ordnance Depot found them to be very old devices which were not live and not dangerous.

Three men were arrested after other items including suspected cannabis plants were seized from the address.

They are being questioned on suspicion of class B drugs offences.
