Bookham jewellers targeted by armed robbers

Two men are being sought after jewellery and cash was stolen in an armed raid on a shop in Surrey.

The pair threatened staff at Christian Jewellers in Bookham with sledgehammers at about 13:00 BST on Saturday.

They fled through an alleyway next to the shop which leads to a car park where the driver of a car, believed to be a black Audi, was waiting.

Ambulance crews attended the scene as a precaution but no injuries were reported by staff.

The offenders were described as black and wore dark clothing and balaclavas.

They were aged in their early 20s, about 5ft 8in (1.72m) to 6ft (1.82m) tall and spoke with a south London accent.
