Bogus snow clearers rob Guildford pensioner

A woman in her 90s has been robbed by two men who offered to help her by clearing snow.

The victim was approached by the men in Chertsey Street in Guildford on Friday between 10:00 and 11:30 GMT. They asked if they could help her clear her path.

They then went into her home and took some jewellery and a bottle of brandy, Surrey Police said.

Both men were described as white and one was wearing a fur hat and a jacket.

One gold and three pearl necklaces were stolen from the woman.
