'Strong heroin' warning after Sheerwater man dies

The sudden death of a 23-year-old man in Surrey could be linked to him having taken an unusually strong form of heroin, police have said.

A post-mortem examination is yet to to carried out following the death of the man in Sheerwater on Tuesday but police said they were "extremely concerned".

Officers said the light-coloured heroin was believed to be circulating in Woking and the surrounding areas.

They warned anyone who took it to be aware of an increased risk of overdose.

"We need the public's help in getting this drug off the streets of Surrey," said Temporary Supt Matt Goodridge.

Anyone with information about the substance has been asked to contact Surrey Police or Crimestoppers.
