Oxted designer store ram raid 'planned'

Ram raiders who tried to break into a designer menswear store in Surrey using two vehicles had planned the failed attempt in detail, police have said.

Officers believe three men used the cars to smash into the Robert Fuller store in Station Road East, Oxted, at 04:30 BST on Sunday.

They caused about £450-worth of damage but failed to get into the shop and escaped in a dark-coloured BMW.

A grey Volkswagen stolen from Holland Road earlier was left at the scene.

"It is clear the offenders had planned this offence in some detail by stealing a car to commit the offence," said Det Con Jo Clarke.

"I appeal to anyone who has heard someone discuss this incident and believe they may be involved to contact officers with information."
