Knaphill bus crash injures passenger

An 87-year-old man suffered serious injuries when the bus he was a passenger in collided with a car.

He was sitting at the front of the single decker Arriva bus when it collided with a silver Mercedes on Anchor Hill in Knaphill, Surrey police said.

The man was taken to St Peter's Hospital.

The car driver, believed to be in her 50s, suffered whiplash and another bus passenger suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed between Anchor Hill and Barnby Road and motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
