Man attacked outside Walton-on-Thames shopping centre

A man in his 20s was left with a broken jaw after he was attacked at a shopping centre in Surrey.

Police said the man was punched after three youth verbally abused him in The Heart shopping centre in Walton-on-Thames on Friday.

The victim ignored the youths in the mall but they were waiting outside when he left just after 15:45 BST.

He was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London, where he will need an operation to repair his jaw.

"This was a particularly nasty and unprovoked attack," said Det Sgt Adrian Duncombe.

"There would have been a number of people around at the time and I am appealing for anyone who saw what took place to come forward."
